New RPM is bad.

The new openmotif-devel-2.1.30-2_ICS.i386.rpm is bad. It is not the size specified in the header and will not install.

What size is your rpm? If it is smaller than 21,837,824 bytes, then you have a bad download...
Why not download the source rpm, and rebuild it from scratch? If your file is that size, please post an md5sum to verify it is right, or do an "rpm --verify" on it

New RPM is bad.

I have had the same problem.

The size is indeed 21,837,824; however, when I attempt to install it, using, for example

> rpm -ivh openmotif-devel-2.1.30-2_ICS.i386.rpm

I get the message

error openmotif-devel-2.1.30-2_ICS.i386.rpm cannot be installed

Before trying to install this, I *did* install openmotif-2.1.30-2_ICS.i386.rpm, and that worked just fine.

Is anybody else having this problem? Any solutions?

Hi,

I don`t think that your problem is related to the first (size problems are usually prematurely terminated downloads0.

Can you tell me which site you downloaded the developer package from and which distribution you are trying to install it on?

Thanks

Mark

New RPM is bad.

I am trying to install on a RedHat 6.1 system.

I downloaded from the motifzone download site directly, not from one of the mirrors.

BTW, I only mentioned the size in response to the previous post -- I knew that the download hadn`t been prematurely terminated.

Thanks in advance for your help.

New RPM is bad.

You are correct. The RPM that was on the US site was bad. We`ve temporarily pointed the US ftp to another site while we fix the first. Please try downloading and installing the Development package again.
